Halima Aden Covers Allure; Brooke Shields Is Reuniting With Calvin Klein

Halima Aden Covers Allure

Halima Aden, IMG's first-ever hijab-wearing model, is on a roll. The 19-year-old went from Minnesota pageant queen to walking for Yeezy and Max Mara to covering Vogue Arabia in the span of a few short years, and now she's landed the cover of Allure — wearing Nike's new performance hijab, no less. Though Aden's also shared a cover of CR Fashion Book, the Allure cover marks her first mainstream American glossy cover. In the accompanying interview, the braces-wearing Muslim model discusses defying beauty standards and how her religion factors into her chosen profession.

Brooke Shields Reunites With Calvin Klein — 37 Years Later

Thirty-seven years after the infamous Calvin Klein ad that made a then 15-year-old Brooke Shields a household name, the actress is reuniting with the brand. Calvin Klein CEO Steve Shiffman reportedly revealed the project during Time Inc.'s Shakers & Stirrers event at Cannes Lions. No word yet on whether or not she'll reclaim her infamous tagline, "You wanna know what comes between me and my Calvin's? Nothing."

Melania Trump Wears Michael Kors for Meeting With Panamanian President and Wife

Melania Trump (the first lady, not the salami) arrived for her meeting with Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela and his wife Lorena Castillo clad in a powder-blue Michael Kors Collection sleeveless dress. This isn't the first time that the first lady has chosen the American designer — she made quite the impression in a sparkly black skirt suit by Kors at President Donald Trump's joint session address in February. The hue is also familiar; Melania chose the cool blue shade for the inauguration, where she rocked a Jackie Onassis-esque Ralph Lauren ensemble.

Estee Lauder Taps Makeup Artist and Influencer Violette as Global Beauty Director

Move over, Kendall Jenner. Estee Lauder has a new face. Violette — influencer, makeup artist and certified Cool French Girl — has been tapped as the brand's new global beauty director. Her duties will include helping the Estee Lauder team with "product development, digital content creation, education and training and public relations initiatives." Said Violette of her new role, "Estée was such a visionary and is still an inspiration for women today. She understood beauty is a way of expressing yourself, a way to celebrate femininity. And that is also my philosophy. I can’t wait to connect with women everywhere as part of this brand and take them on this journey with me.”
