Partner per rinnovare 156 vetture della metropolitana della città di San Paolo, per aumentare sia il comfort dei passeggeri che il risparmio energetico
BERLINO, GERMANIA -- (MARKET WIRE) - 19/06/09 -- Un consorzio guidato da
Bombardier Transportation ha ottenuto un contratto per modernizzare 156 vagoni passeggeri (26 treni da sei elementi) dalla Companhia do Metropolitano de Sao Paulo (CMSP), l'azienda di trasporti statale che gestisce la metropolitana di San Paolo, la più grande città del Brasile. Il contratto, del valore di circa 383 milioni di Real(193 milioni di $US, 139 milioni di Euro), riguarda servizi completi di modernizzazione delle unità elettriche multiple vecchie ormai di 30 anni, operate dalla CMSP sulla Linea 1-Blu a San Paolo (ex Linea Nord-Sud).
Bombardier's share of the contract is valued at approximately 238 million reals ($120 million US, 87 million euros). The Bombardier con sortium includes two Brazilian partners: Temoinsa and Tejofran.

The modernization project includes upgrades to door system s and bogies, as well as installation of new interiors, propulsion systems, communication and air conditioning systems, windows and a range of other improvements. The cars will be modernized at Bombardier's rail services center in Hortolandia, Brazil outside of Sao Paulo.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in August 2010.
