Network Appliance conclude l'acquisizione di Topio
Network Appliance completes acquisition of Topio
Powerful Combination Delivers Expanded Heterogeneous Data-Protection Portfolio
Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Topio, a privately held Santa Clara, California–based company with R&D in Haifa, Israel. Under the terms of the definitive agreement announced November 8, 2006, Network Appliance acquired Topio for approximately $160 million in an all-cash transaction.
Topio is highly regarded for its innovative software that helps customers replicate, recover, and protect data over any distance regardless of the underlying server or storage infrastructure. In addition to delivering a broader range of data protection, data migration, and data cloning capabilities, this acquisition expands the NetApp heterogeneous data-protection portfolio by simplifying the replication of data from other storage arrays to NetApp storage systems.
Topio will be a new Data Replication business unit within NetApp and its research and development team will continue to operate in Haifa, Israel.
Additional details on the NetApp acquisition of Topio can be found in the November 8 initial acquisition press release, available online at http://www.netapp.com/news/press/news_rel_20061108.
