NEW YORK, MAY 12, 2011�“ In celebration of The Imagine More Roadshow inspiring people everywhere to share imagination through better images, Manfrotto made  its first stop in New York City to officially launch The Imagine More Contest.  The international contest is designed to define the first worldwide Imagine More Manifesto and will give creative minds across the globe a chance to walk the red carpet and be recognized at the 2011 Venice Film Festival. 

International celebrity leaders in culture, design, entertainment and art including renowned visual artist and thought leader Chase Jarvis, international chef and co-owner of Red Rooster Harlem Marcus Samuelsson, Barneys New York Creative Ambassador Simon Doonan, famed Dj Mia Moretti and Italian actress Violante Placido kicked off the global conversation on how to share and express imagination through better images at An Evening to Imagine More gala at New York’s Skylight Soho Gallery.

The emblem of Italian excellence around the world and the undisputed leader in premium accessories for the photography and image industry, Manfrotto has stepped forward as the promoter of an unprecedented Imagine More initiative, creating a user-generated process that involves consumers from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, China and Hong Kong. Through Imagine More, the entire Internet population of “social recorders” - from the creative amateur to the trained professional - has been invited to share individual interpretations of their imagination on virtual platforms through words and images.

The Imagine More initiative (www.manfrottoimaginemore.com) integrates top social media networks Twitter, Facebook and Flickr and the hashtag #imaginemore to define the Imagine More Manifesto.  The first part of the contest from now through May 31, 2011, will aim to define the ten basic principles of imagination through user-generated tweets. The five best tweets will be coupled with tweets from the celebrity talents to complete the manifesto text.  The second part of the contest, from June 1- 15, 2011, gives more visual social recorders the opportunity to express and share their imagination by uploading their best photos to www.manfrottoimaginemore.com, Facebook and Flickr.

Two winners �“ one from each contest part - will receive an exclusive trip to Venice for the next Film Festival. During the prestigious cinema event, the Imagine More Manifesto �“ a short made by the famous photographer and director Bill Frakes using the winning text contributions (tweets) and photographs from the Imagine More Contest �“ will be shown for the first time. Violante Placido will be the patroness of the premiere.

The Imagine More Manifesto, a worldwide project through which Manfrotto hopes to stimulate and share imagination, is a movement that, from New York, will involve the entire globe through the Internet and social networks.
