Anarkalis have gone for a makeover this year. From floor-length, it has now transformed into a dress that can be paired with a skirt, a cape, or a kurta. It is one of the best outfits that can be incorporated into your wardrobe this festive season.

Inspired from the classical dance form Kathak, this ensemble has evolved into a different beauty over the time. Here are a few innovative ways to flaunt the dress in style.

Cold Shoulders

This type of Anarkali is in trend now and is an outfit which has a western twist to it. City-based fashion designer Deepthi Reddy says that one has to be careful before choosing this outfit. “Having beautiful skin is one factor that people should keep in mind before opting for it. The outfit has cut shoulders and a sexy back,” she adds.

Pair It With Palazzos

Palazzos go well with Anarkali. There is a wrong notion that only tall people can flaunt them, but if the Anarkali is kept to knee-length, even shorter people can flaunt this combo. Designer Bhargavi Kunam says that one should not go for thick fabrics as they may look boxy. “When pairing it with palazzos, try and avoid wearing floor-length Anarkali,” she advises.

Cape Tops

Anarkalis go best with cape tops, but the fabric used for the cape tops should be of light-weight. Deepthi advises people to opt for chiffon or georgette as they make the outfit look elegant. She mentions that one has to be careful as it may also look baggy if it goes wrong. “People who are tall should pair their Anarkali with capes,” he adds.

Long Jacket

Long jackets are in trend now. Pair it with Anarkali and you are all set to rock the party. Bhargavi says that tall people should opt for long jackets. “The jacket should be a simple one, if you are going for a heavy Anarkali and vice-versa,” she shares.

Waistcoat

This outfit is as Indian as it sounds and a nice contrast-coloured waistcoat with a bright Anarkali is a perfect combination. Deepthi suggests that one could opt for bulge jackets as they are not too long and make the outfit look feminine. “The waistcoat should not be too long and preferably should be a body fit,” she adds.Read more at:formal dresses
