Soil nail is more appropriate and suitable for unconsolidated ground condition

As you know that one of the worst problems regarding to civil construction is steel corrosion in reinforced concrete configuration. It is seen to be one of the worst and most frequent pathologies of civil geological engineering, as well as being a technical-economical-social problem, it still stand up for a great waste of natural resources.So the production of soil nail will be affected by that.

Two mechanisms provide protection for embedded soil nail  in concrete against corrosion by : physical and chemical mechanisms. 

The chemical coating is ensured by high pH solution embedded in the concrete boreholes,which gives rise to steel passivation. While the physical protection is warranted by concrete cover, which impedes aggressive agents reaching the steel.

With the target of increasing the durability and suitability of concretes, new materials are being concluded into the concrete to promote their properties such as porosity and especially permeability. 

Soil nail  is especially designed for many complex soil conditions,such as poor rock,weathered layer and sand with stone layer.

In comparision with conventional method,soil nail  is more appropriate and suitable for unconsolidated ground condition that is so difficult to create hole.
