If you’ve been looking for a way to get fantastic, true piano sound with the convenience of the digital world, then look no further than the Ravenscroft 275vipaired with the Kawai VPC1keyboard! Developed by the makers of the award-winning Ravenscroft 275 Concert Grand Piano, the Ravenscroft 275viplatform leaves no rock unturned in the search for pristine piano sound in a digital format.

The creation and pairing of the Ravenscroft 275vi and Kawai VPC1 have completely changed the digital piano game. Nothing comes even close to the brilliant replication of a concert grand piano like this software keyboard combination. While playing the setup at NAMM, multi-platinum songwriter and music producer Erik Griggs said, “The virtual basically is the [Ravenscroft 275 grand piano] smaller. It’s not supposed to be able to happen. Don’t know how you did it but it’s done…It feels the same and it sounds the same.”

The software provides wide ranging control of virtually every feature of the piano. Overall tone, room ambiance, microphone placement, and reverb, in addition to more subtle and specific features, like pedal noise and release, key noise and release, silent strikes, una corda, muted strikes, and a half-pedal setting that allows for dynamic control of the damper action. Pedal resonance, true pedal action, re-pedaling, sympathetic resonance, and varied dynamics are just the surface of what the Ravenscroft 275vi enable he user to accomplish.

All of this is accentuated by Ravenworks modification of the already-great Kawai VPC1 keyboard. The goal – which has been accomplished – was to provide the same exact physical playing experience a user would have with the Ravenscroft 275 Concert Grand Piano, but to overcome the limitations that a full concert grand brings.

The team takes each Kawai VPC1 and modifies dozens of elements to create an amazing experience, including:sizing of key pin and balancing bushing, addition of quality piano key-end felt, custom key dip, squaring, spacing and leveling keys, proprietary precision friction analysis and weight placement determination, proprietary Bismuth key weighting procedure, manufacturing of Bismuth weights, and key weight installation procedure.
