| Media Accreditation Opens for RWC 2011 |
The media accreditation application process for Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand is now open.
Written, photographic and non rights holding media can request accreditation by submitting an application via the official RWC 2011 electronic accreditation portal through until March 31, 2011.
Individuals requesting accreditation can access the application portal athttps://mediaaccreditation.rugbyworldcup.com. Organisations that are requesting accreditation for five or more people are advised to first contact the Media Operations team at email@example.com to nominate a Trusted Agent. Once an account has been created for an organisation, the Trusted Agent can coordinate the applications on behalf of the organisation.
Media must request a ticket for each pool match they want to attend on their accreditation application, bearing in mind that our system will not allow you to apply for more than one match on one day.
Rugby World Cup Limited will review media accreditation applications and aim to advise applicants of their status by May 2011. Requests for media tickets will be reviewed following approval of accreditation, with the goal of advising applicants of their ticket allocation by June 2011.
Note: Applicants will be required to submit a passport-style photograph (head and shoulders) with their electronic application.

Accredited media may be required to obtain a visa prior to entering New Zealand. Once you have obtained your letter of invitation as a member of the media for RWC 2011, we will confirm the relevant procedure to ensure you can take advantage of the facilitated process being offered by Immigration New Zealand, which includes a waiver of the usual visa application fee.
Further information about immigration and visa requirements will be available in the next instalment of the Media Operations enewsletter.
ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORTATION
Members of the media are responsible for their own accommodation and travel arrangements.
There is a high demand for accommodation throughout New Zealand, as well as a high demand for international travel to and from and domestic travel within New Zealand. Media are advised to book any accommodation needs and travel arrangements as soon as possible to ensure that your reservations are held.
For further information about accommodation, please contact Jo Williment from the Official Accommodation Bank at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. The OAB is a liaison that can help facilitate arrangements with the properties on a first-come, first-served basis.
