Skiline the online ski holidays experts and travel agent has launched a new customer review section on its web site, http://www.skiline.co.uk, which allows only clients of Skiline to review the ski holidays that they have booked through the ABTA bonded agency.
Regarding this launch Angus Kinloch, Skiline.co.uk's Managing Director, comments:
"The idea behind this new move was to allow our clients to share feedback on ski holidays that we know had been booked through us. It's hoped over time that all the ski hotels, chalets, apartments and group ski holidays we offer will have a number of reviews each to enable our clients and also our own sales advisors to make better informed decisions about where to book. My only concern right now is that many of the reviews seem too good and we are concerned that users of the site might think we have written ourselves, but some of the comments have been very constructive and I guess after searching for holidays now for over 16 years we are rather good it!"
There are often questions raised about Trip Advisor, as anyone can add a review good or bad and nobody knows for sure if the reviewer has ever actually stayed there. In some cases hotel owners believe other competing hotels might have published poor reviews simply because they wanted to show their own hotel in a better light. With Skiline's reviews only clients who booked the holiday can review it, adding further credibility to the site.
So far in just a week over 400 reviews have been added to the site. Past clients are asked to rate the various elements of the holidays from, 1* - 5*. These include the travel arrangements if a package holiday was booked, a rating for the standard of the accommodation, a rating for the food unless a self catered holiday was booked, the location of the holiday accommodation, the resort staff rating, and finally the clients were asked to rate the performance of Skiline's own service. Clients are also able to add a narrative of up to 200 words which around 80% have done so far.
Reviews by other skiers and snowboarders of chalets, hotels and apartments will in particular help group ski holidays book - a key facet of Skiline's business. Group leaders carry a lot of responsibility when booking for a group of friends or colleagues on a ski trip, group leaders deserve to every bit of ammo at their disposal to make the best choices.
