Holiday Hypermarket: Brits Indulge 25 per cent More on Travel in 2011

-Data gathered by Holiday Hypermarket shows that British holidaymakers are continuing to increase the amount they are willing to spend on their holidays-
Holiday Hypermarket, a UK based holiday comparison community, say the average holidaymaker spent 25 per cent more on their holidays in the last quarter of 2011 than they did in the same period in 2010.
Holiday Hypermarket found that its customers were spending an average of Â£533 on holidays to Benidorm and other exciting destinations between October and December in 2010. This figure contrasts sharply with the 2011 spend for the same months which went up to Â£667, an increase of Â£134. This amounts to a 25 per cent surge in spending.
Calum MacDonald, Online Marketing Manager for Holiday Hypermarket comments: "Amid a great deal of financial turmoil, British consumers are still very interested in spending money on trips abroad. We saw spending dip considerably several years ago, but since then there has been a clear upward trend."
