Kina Grannis Kicks Off "In Your Arms" World Tour With Four-Week U.K. & European Run

[01-February-2012]

LONDON, February 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

- Jelly Belly Sponsor of Tour Named For Kina's Jelly Bean-Inspired Video

Singer-songwriter and social media phenomenon Kina Grannis has returned to Europe for a month-long 15-city appearance schedule beginning 1-February at Dublin's Academy and wrapping on 25-February at Madrid's Ramdall, a follow-up to the success of her sold-out U.K. & European Tour Dates in October 2011.  Jelly Belly Candy Company is along for the ride as a "In Your Arms" World Tour sponsor paying homage to Grannis' globally-acclaimed, deliciously-crafted, jelly bean-inspired music video for the single "In Your Arms" that went viral with more than five million views in three months on YouTube.

The video for "In Your Arms" is a stop-motion masterpiece that took 22-months to complete and was made with 288,000 Jelly Belly® jelly beans (each placed by hand).  With the Jelly Belly name firmly behind each and every bean donated to Grannis' video, the video was inspired by Jelly Belly Art, large mosaics made of Jelly Belly jelly beans, according to director Greg Jardin. The animation was captured using 2,460 frames of film, took the crew 1,357 hours to complete and incorporated 47 different flavours of Jelly Belly beans. A follow up video by the musician and her team shows how they accomplished this feat.

The European tour dates open Grannis' nearly four month-long world tour, supporting her debut album STAIRWELLS. Since the album's release Kina has sold out shows throughout North America, the United Kingdom and Europe.  Her YouTube channel boasts more than 500,000 followers and 90 million cumulative views, buoyed by original videos for "Valentine," "The One You Say Goodnight To" and "In Your Arms" among her many original songs and unique twists on cover songs.

Additionally, Grannis' music and videos have been featured on VH1 and MTV, and she was named best web born musician by MTV. Time magazine listed her jelly bean-inspired video among the top viral videos of the year. Other media covering the singer/songwriter include Huffington Post, USA Today, Glamour, Vogue, Ellen and Jimmy Kimmel Live in the United States, Taratata in France and Arte Lounge in Germany.
