Moshi Monsters Music Rox! The debut album from online kids phenomenon, Moshi Monsters is currently tracking ahead of music icons Madonna and Lostprophets at number 3 in the UK's Official Chart Update within days of going on sale. Moshi Monsters Music Rox! hit shelves on Monday 2 April and is causing a pop upset by storming the charts early in the week with absolutely no promotional airplay.
"We're over the moon to see 'Music Rox!' creating such a stir in the charts," said Jason Perry, Head of Moshi Music at parent company Mind Candy. "To be on course to potentially achieve a top three position in the chart this coming weekend without any radio or TV play is ground-breaking news for us. We're delighted to be entertaining our Moshi fans with quality kids music and turning the traditional route to chart success on its head."
Written and produced in house under the Moshi Monsters Music record label and distributed by Sony Music, Moshi Monsters, Music Rox! features twelve tracks from popular Moshi characters including The MonStars, Dr Strangeglove, Popstar Poppet, Big Bad Bill and Sweet Tooth as well as newly developed music characters, Bobbi SingSong and Zack Binspin. The music covers all genres from rock to Bollywood, and combines catchy tunes with witty lyrics that will appeal to both kids and adults alike.
The Moshi fanbase currently stands at over 60m registered users worldwide and its loyal fanbase has lead 'real world' products to extreme success, disrupting many traditional industries including gaming and publishing. The Moshi Monsters Magazine (launched Feb 2011) is the best selling monthly kids mag in the UK and the DS game 'Moshling Zoo' (launched back in November) has topped the UK DS Charts for 12 consecutive weeks! The Music Industry was the next logical move in shaking things up for this new digital generation of kids.
Martin Talbot, Managing Director of the UK's Official Charts Company, says: "It's fantastic to see Moshi - a brand which is new to the music scene - making waves among acts such as Madonna, David Guetta and Jessie J. Easter is always a boom period for kids' music and videos targeting and the Moshi Monsters are clearly leading the way."
Moshi Monsters, Music Rox! is now available to purchase in store at HMV, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, WHSmiths, HMV, Argos and all good record shops.  It will be available digitally in the UK and online at Amazon.co.uk, Play.com, HMV.com and iTunes UK at an RRP of £8.99. The album is also available globally to download via iTunes now and available in stores in Australia, New Zealand and the USA later in the year.
