LONDON, April 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

  • £1 billion plan to offer subsidised work and training placement will provide help to thousands of young jobseekers.
  • The scheme, which is aimed at 16-24 year-olds, hopes to provide jobseekers with the necessary experience, skills, and confidence to improve job prospects.

With thousands of young jobseekers ready to work and find jobs, the coalition government has recently launched a new £1 billion Youth Contract Scheme. Not only will the plan create 250,000 work experience placements, but it will also look to encourage employers to recruit young people with the promise of subsidised wages.

reed.co.uk, experts in retail, construction and IT jobs, believe that this initiative is great news for jobseekers, as businesses will receive a subsidy of £2,275 for every 18-24 year old employed in a full-time position. This funding should provide more opportunities for young people to gain and develop relevant skills, while improving future job prospects.

The Scottish Government have also been attempting to resolve the problem of youth unemployment by introducing the "Training for All" scheme.

The initiative will offer personal development opportunities for everyone, as Youth Employment Minister Angela Constance says that every 16 to 19 year-old will be guaranteed opportunities to education and training. By providing £30 million in investment, the scheme aims to give young people the skills and experience that will lead to gain future employment.

The reed.co.uk courses are also dedicated to helping young jobseekers find their perfect position by offering a series of training courses. Popular courses that reed.co.uk and their partners offer include Business Administration, Counselling, Project Management, and Psychology.

reed.co.uk realise that further study can help jobseekers stay competitive in the job market, as it allows you to apply for more specific and demanding roles. Statistics also indicate that those who have received further education are likely to earn more, as jobseekers with a degree can expect to earn 13% more that those without one.

So for those that are young and currently jobseeking, there a schemes and learning courses available to help improve your chances of landing that dream job.
