[08-April-2014]

LEAMINGTON SPA, England, April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

A range cooker expert Rangemaster has created a new infographic to celebrate the history of the most important part of any kitchen, the cooker.

"Evolution of the Cooker" is a timeline of when the idea of a cooker was very first introduced in 29,000 BC when roasting and boiling pits inside yurts were used to cook mammoth, right through to the launch of Rangemaster's new 'illuminated facia' feature which was launched in 2013.

It gives Rangemaster customers and cooking enthusiasts a chance to take a look at the history of the cooker, they will learn where it originated from, how old it is and who invented the different types of cookers. It is a historic but fun infographic that will give cooking fans an insight into how the cooker has developed throughout its journey.

Holly Johnson, Marketing Manager, said: "We're very happy to be able to show our customers a timeline of the cooker, it's interesting to see how the idea of a cooker first came about and to see how it has grown. It's nice to be able to take our customers on a journey that we have been on for such a long time. We hope that the infographic gives everyone an idea of how much the cooker has advanced and we also hope that it gets customers excited for what's next for the cooker."

Evolution of the Cooker explains that John Flavel founded what was to become Rangemaster in 1777. The first oven to boil, roast, bake and warm food from the same heat source was introduced in 1830 and was called 'The Kitchener'. It was then in 1882 that Thomas Ahearn invented the electric oven and in 1992 that the modern day Rangemaster was introduced.
