CareerAddict.com Announces 'Top Author of the Year' Award 2014

[23-October-2014]

COVENTRY, England, October 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

CareerAddict makes headlines in the freelance writing industry by announcing the winners of their competition for the 'Top Author of the Year 2014'.

Freelance writing has exploded in the past year. The number of writers turning to blogging websites to make a living has risen significantly with an estimated 16 million people currently working independently in the US alone. This figure is expected to rise to 65 million by 2020, predicts Gene Zaino, CEO of MBO Partners. CareerAddict.com recognises the shift from traditional workplace culture to the new 'work from home' lifestyle that many people now seek. As such, CareerAddict has provided a platform for writers to expand on their freelance writing, gain worldwide recognition and develop a professional online portfolio. To encourage writers, CareerAddict launched their 'Top Author of the Year' competition last year and has recently announced the top 3 winners!

The competition was based on the total number of page views and shares each author received on articles published between 1st October 2013 and 30th September 2014. Cash prizes were awarded for those authors who came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. On 1st October 2014, the winners were officially announced. Sanjay Bojan, from India, who won the first place prize of US $5000, commented on his triumph:

"There's nothing like helping job seekers find their career path and being rewarded for it. It is awesome."

Krista Hillis, from Canada, won second place and was rewarded a total of US $3000. Krista commented:

"When you work hard, stay focused, and maintain high levels of motivation, you can achieve great things. Working for CareerAddict this past year has been a pleasure. I am thrilled with placing second, as it was not only exciting, but rewarding."

Third place of US $1,000 was awarded to Andy Peloquin from the USA. Andy was delighted to have won a cash prize stating, "I've worked hard to write quality articles for Career Addict, and I'm thrilled that it has paid off. I'm totally stoked to win third place, but next year, First Place Winner, watch out!"

With over 250 active authors competing for the 'Top Author' title, the 3 top winners achieved a great deal with a staggering combined total of 165 thousand article views and 22 thousand article shares.
