[03-February-2016]

KÜHTAI, Austria, February 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

After the massive success of this winter sports competition in 2014 and 2015, this year Kühtai is hosting The Jump, broadcast live and featuring 11 British celebrity competitors.

Kühtai. "The Jump is a successful TV format from Channel 4 and this year it is being broadcast live from Kühtai," say Philip Haslwanter, Managing Director of Bergbahnen Kühtai, and Arthur Krasovic, Managing Director of the Kühtai Tourist Office, in a joint statement. The celebrities taking part in The Jump are competing in challenging winter sports disciplines in Kühtai, which lies over 2020 metres above sea level, with the aim of getting their hands on the coveted Cowbell Trophy. "After several weeks of training, the contestants are throwing themselves into the competition. The majority of events are held in Kühtai and will be broadcast live across Britain in six prime time shows," explains Krasovic enthusiastically.

The Jump

Rising to the challenge and facing their fears are numerous well-known celebrities, including Olympic athletes Beth Tweddle (gymnastics), Rebecca Adlington (swimming), Linford Christie (athletics), Mark-Francis Vandelli (Made in Chelsea star), James "Arg" Argent (The Only Way is Essex), Sid Owen (actor), Brian McFadden (musician), Sarah Harding (musician), Tamara Beckwith (It Girl and Girl About Town), Tina Hobley (actress) and Dean Cain (actor). Trainers Graham Bell (Olympic skier), Lizzy Yarnold (World and European Skeleton Champion) and Ed! die "The Eagle" Edwards will prepare the athletes for the competition and support them as much as possible.

Kühtai - excellent winter sports facilities

Kühtai is one of the highest winter sports locations in Tirol. Thanks to virtually guaranteed snow, this year Kühtai was able to host the opening round of the World Luge Natural Track Championships and three IPC Europa Cup races. The SIGB Ski Tests (Snowsport Industries of Great Britain) are held in Kühtai every year. Guaranteed snow, an established tourism infrastructure and a location with convenient transport links about 35 minutes from Innsbruck and its international connections combine to make Kühtai a popular winter sports destination.
