AMD annuncia oggi che XFX, leader mondiale nel settore delle schede grafiche, schede madri e accessori per computer, è diventato ufficialmente partner tecnologico di AMD.

XFX prevede di fornire nuovi prodotti basati sulla vincente serie ATI Radeon HD 4000, a cominciare dai primi mesi del 2009.

Le schede grafiche ATI Radeon ™ HD 4000 sono state introdotte per la prima volta nel giugno 2008 con l’introduzione della ATI Radeon ™ HD 4850 e della ATI Radeon ™ HD 4870, i primi chip grafico al mondo di classe teraFLOPS. L’ ATI Radeon HD 4870 fornisce capacità di elaborazione grafica senza precedenti di 1,2 teraFLOPS e incorpora uno stock di core GPU con velocità di clock di 750 MHz e 512 MB di memoria GDDR5 a 3,6 gigabit/secondo.

 

Sia la ATI Radeon HD 4870 che la HD 4870 X2, con i suoi sbalorditivi 2,4 teraFLOPS di potenza di calcolo, continuano ad essere le solo schede grafiche ad utilizzare frame buffer di memoria GDDR5. Più recente il lancio della AMD ATI Radeon ™ HD 4830, che offre agli appassionati di videogame un accesso ancor più abbordabile alle performance avanzate che caratterizzano la serie di dispositivi ATI Radeon™ HD 4800.
